THE LEGEND OF BUTO IJO ICE

            Long time ago there lived a widow name Emak Bungkuk. She lived alone, and has not children. So she prayed to God to have child.  One day, Emak Bungkuk was going to wash clothes in the river. Suddenly she heard a baby cried.

Emak     : asstagfirrullahaladzim,who is infant? Who would throw away this baby? I will take care of you my dear. I call you Sari.

            Day by day, little Sari became into a very beautiful women and also virtuous. She had many friends in the village.  But she was jealous with her friends who has father. 

Sari       : mom, who is my dad? I never heard about my dad? Where is he?

Emak     : sari, I think you might hear the truth. Actually you aren’t my daughter. I find you in the river. And I don’t know how you are.

Sari       : you are lying. So who are my parents?

Emak   : don’t be sad my dear. You always be my daughter.

Sari       : thank you so much mom because you treat me well until this day.

            In the palace, king and queen were very sad because 17 years ago they lose their little baby. Every day the queen crying and prayed to God to bring their baby back.

Queen : oh God , bring back my child. I’m so lonely without my little daughter.

King     : My queen, don’t be sad like that. I will find and do the best to find our princess.

            And then the King command to all soldier and also the green giant to find out their little baby. They come in the sari and emak bungkuk village. The villagers were frightened because of their coming. Also Sari and Emak Bungkuk.

Villagers: who are you? What do you want in this village?

Buto Ijo: we are going to find out the princes of my King and Queen. She was 17 years old.

Emak    : where is the king I would like to say something important about his daughter?

Sari       : what will you do mom? This is about me? Are they my parents?

Emak    : calm down my dear. Stay here, and bought this ice.

Emak Bungkuk meets the King and Queen. Emak Bungkuk tells everything about Sari.

The king and the queen want sari to back in the palace. But Emak Bungkuk did not give back sari. Then they made an appoinment, if buto ijo can catch her then sari will back to her parents but if buto ijo can’t sari will stay here with emak bungkuk.

King                 : alright I agree with you. If the green giant can catch sari would be mine. If not she will stayed with you.

Emak   : I hope you keep your promise.

The king went out from emak gayung’s home and asked buto ijo to searched sari.

The king : “hey buto ijo! Help me to find my daugther. If you success I will give you gold one case.” Scream the king.

Buto      : “of course. I will find your daugther and get gold. Hahaha.” buto answer with loudly.

The king : “let’s go now!”

In the emak’s home, emak put up a pack campur ice to sari. Emak noticing to sari.

Emak   : “my daugther, go out to forest. If you had felt tired run and buto ijo almost catch you give this pack. But don’t you drink this campur ice.!”

Sari      : “why I might drink it?”

Emak   : “you will know it later.”

After accepted the pack and permission sari runned to forest. The voice buto ijo was loudly and thrust his foot can was felt.

Buto    : “sari..oh..sari.., where are you? Don’t hidden from me.”

Sari was running and ignore that voice. Because tired run she break in near river to drink. Not longtime she break, buto ijo come was supprised.

Buto    : “finally I can found you. Let’s join with me and go home now.”

Sari      : “I won’t joined you. I want to break in here. Did you felt thirsty?”

Buto    : “yes I did. Don’t you run again! I want drank for a moment.”

Sari      : “wait a minute! Don’t drank the river water. I had sweet ice, did you want?

Buto    : “ where is the ice?”

Sari give the pack of campur ice to buto ijo. It had give magic by emak gayung. When buto ijo drink a half glass. Suddenly, CLING! Buto ijo was lost. Sari caught the ice scrap and brought it to home.

Sari      : “emak..emak.. I am coming.”          

Emak   : “alhamdulillah you can free from buto ijo.’

The king ang the queen coming.

The king : “emak, I was apposite my promise. Now,sari will stay with you.”

Emak   : “you are wise king. Although, you can meet sari everytime.”

Suddenly sari come and showed buto ijo ice.

Sari      : “the king, how if this ice become traditional food in the village, because emak gayung have had help me to defeaded buto ijo?”

The king : “i agree with your idea.’

Finally the king and the queen wasn’t cried and sari happy can found her family. To remember service emak gayung after take care sari, in the village where emak gayung live many people sell buto ijo ice.
